British firms joined more than 160 Omani and international businesses taking part in the 2019 Oman Energy and Water Conference and Exhibition this week.
The annual three-day event held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat represented the country’s largest gathering of professionals from the power sector, with a focus on the water and wastewater industry, power generation, renewable and alternative energy, transmission and distribution-related industries.
British firms that took part in the event included Anua Clean Air UK Limited, Avista Technologies (UK) Ltd, British Water, Croft Filters Ltd, CSG Valves Limited, Genesys International Ltd and Gill Sensors & Controls.
Organised by Diam-Public Authority for Water and Omanexpo, the event was officially opened on Monday by His Highness Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad bin Mahmood Al Said, Assistant Secretary General for Cabinet Affairs of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers.
The conference heard from more than 40 speakers who used the event to present industry insights, highlight best practices, current issues, solutions and case studies.
Topics covered during the event included digitalisation, efficiency and operational excellence in the water and wastewater sectors, climate change impact on water resources and critical factors to maintain sustainable solar market growth.
