Shropshire-based manufacturer Fabweld Steel Products (FSP) has completed a project to supply power solutions to a new luxury beachfront development in Oman.
According to a report by the Shropshire Star, the Telford firm has been working on the Al Mouj Muscat development – a multi-million pound waterfront scheme spread across 6 km of the capital’s coastline.
As part of a deal involving the firm’s official partner, Essex-based Pop Up Power Supplies, FSP has supplied 56 Pop Up Power® In Ground Units which will be sited around the development.
The discreet, retractable units come out of the ground and provide access to an electrical supply when required, and remain hidden from view when not in use.
Richard Hilton, FSP’s managing director, told the newspaper: “The Al Mouj Muscat is the Sultanate's premier lifestyle and leisure destination and demands the highest standard of visual aesthetic for this development.
“The beauty of the pop up power units is that they provide a discreet power source and the recessed lid accepts paving or an alternative infill to blend perfectly with the surrounding area.”
Designed to showcase Oman’s diverse culture, environment and heritage, Al Mouj Muscat comprises hotels, retail outlets, a marina and an 18-hole links golf course.
The project’s flagship hotel, the Mysk Al Mouj by Shaza Hotels, was awarded New Leading Hotel in Oman at the World Travel Awards’ Middle East Gala Ceremony in April.
