Oman Air launches second flight to UK

OMAN Air’s new second daily flight from Muscat will touch-down at London Heathrow tomorrow (Tuesday 12 April). The new flight will taxi across to the airport's Terminal 4.

The new daily flight timings and details are as follows: London Heathrow to Muscat WY104 08:30 – 18:50; with the return flight: Muscat to London Heathrow WY103 01:25 – 06:30.

For the time being, the new flights will operate from Heathrow Terminal 4, while the current evening flight from Heathrow will remain at Terminal 3. Muscat-based Oman Air bought the slot from Kenya Airways for the record price of US$75m (£52.62m).

When the flights were first announced, Simon Cook, Oman Air country manager UK & Ireland, said: "This is the next step of Oman Air’s strategic growth plan and commitment to provide a quality product and service to our customers in Oman and the UK. I am delighted with this new flight and now the hard work starts."

This news follows the previous announcement of Oman Air's purchase of a pair of take-off and landing slots for £52m at Heathrow. These were bought from Air France KLM and included a highly-valued early morning arrival time, which is also being used in the new flight schedule.
